How Amazon Works – How Do They Earn Cash?

Amazon began from quite modest beginnings and when they first started out they only sold books online. This business model was challenging for the first couple of years of amazon’s existence in which they basically lost money. Albeit they still sell books, and lots of them, they now sell pretty much anything you would want to buy and the days of them losing money are over. Amazon has lots of ways for consumers interesting in purchasing something to look up what they want and often times you can obtain the amazon kindle on amazon that is new or at a reduced price and save a bit of money for yourself. The products on sale are provided by both big business and small home based entrepreneurs, anyone can open an amazon account and sell items of their choosing with relative ease. It’s very similar to ebay, where a seller creates listings of the items that they want to sell and those items will then go live on amazon’s website. The items will stay up until a sale has been made, or if the seller decides that they want to manually delete the items they’re trying to sell. Once a kindle sells and paid for the seller then ships that item to the buyer completing the transaction.

Amazon makes its money by taking a small percentage of the sale price of each item sold via its website, basically like a commission. It’s virtually the same to the ebay’s set up except that ebay charges an ‘insertion fee’ every time an item is listed where as amazon doesn’t, so you only pay on amazon when something sells. It may appear that they are unable to generate that much considering they only take as small percentage of each sale. But , what you need to commprehend is the fact that amazon has millions of visitors every day and countless amounts of transactions are happening all the time. Okay their take is indeed small and maybe not all that significant to a single seller, however when you consider couple of million sales now you can begin to appreciate the amount of money the online selling giant is capable of taking in.

While the company may have started out losing money, they have more than made up for it by making enormous amounts of money with an ever expanding base of web users. As their popularity grows, so too does their market share and the number of visitors that leave other marketing outlets like ebay in the shade as amazon increases its gripe year on year. The company that once only sold books now sells everything from a thimble to and amazon kindle and has now become the standard when it comes a place to buy and sell your items online. At the rapid changing pace that the company has enjoyed over the last few years, it’s simple to see why they are quickly being recognized as a household name.

Instructions To Present Amazon Items On Your Webpages Without Using Javascript

Have you ever advertised the amazon associate program? and do you want to show their products on your site ?. You now have this opportunity by using a program from chipdir.nl/amazon/, there are many benefits you can receive from using this free program:

. It is written in PHP and not JavaScript and as a result the search engines will recognize the contents generated by this software. It will add to the uniqueness of your webpages, and is very handy particularly if you should decide to use reprints or private label articles.

. The script permits you to insert any particular search term to display different products for every webpage you have, plus there are many categories to choose from. For example if you type in ” kindle” as the search term you can select to display products from the ” ipod touch 3rd generation” category that include that phrase. Amazon contains thousands products that you can promote which means you shouldn’t be too worried that you won’t locate any products to display when using specific search phrases.

. You can even use it together with programs to display rss feeds like crap (geckotribe.com/rss/crap/), this will let your webpages appear more unique. By adding updated items from amazon and rss feeds from the other websites, you change your static webpages into dynamic regularly changing webpages.

These are the instructions on how to do it:

1. Go to chipdir.nl/amazon/ and download the following files: amazonh3.phps, data.phps and language.phps.
2. Change the file extensions to now become .php.
3. In the root directory of your hosting create a folder and name it as “cache”.
4. CHMOD the folder to 777.
5. Now open amazonh3.php through your web browser and you should be able to see amazon products related to ‘Machiavelli’ which means that the script is operating properly.
6. You’ll notice that the program always displays ten products at a time on a single webpage. You can personalize the script so as to only display, for example , 2 products on each of your webpages. You should also remove words such as “searching for …”, “number of products: …”, “page 1 of ..” and so on that you don’t want showing. You may end up having to try several times before everything works properly.
7. After customizing the program, put the code (all code in amazonh3.php) into your webpages and save them as .php extensions, change the search terms so that they will relate to the contents of your webpages. Be aware though that if your webpages have already been indexed by the search engines you should not change their extensions meaning, you should not use this script on such webpages.
8. Do remember to insert your own amazon associate ID.

Once you’ve uploaded your webpages, your site will automatically pull in updated details on the buying of the kindle from amazon. Basically follow these instructions for any websites you may have.
