It used to be that you had to go to the video store to get a movie. The next generation it seems will be getting their movies from movie downloads, avoiding any trips to the store. Following is a list of a few movies that you can get using a movie download site.
Natural Born Killers: Mary Mallory is a teenager with an abusive father. After falling in love with Mickey, they viscously murder Mary’s parents. Now they are on the run along Rt. 666. As they run, they go on killing sprees, usually leaving one person alive that can recount the events. As time continues they become a media sensation, almost national heroes.
King David: Dense biblical tale tracks young David’s life from his boyhood battle with Goliath to his anxious reign as emperor; only goes bad in the second half, where abruptness sabotages narrative. This movie is visually striking, with Donald McAlpine’s photography. Cast includes Richard Gere, Edward Woodward, Alice Krige, Denis Quilley, Niall Buggy, Cherie Lunghi, Hurd Hatfield, and Jack Klaff. (114 minutes,’85)
The Page Turner: A 1O-year-old gal who is committed to becoming a piano genius auditions for a music scholarship, but is turned down by the dean of the school. 10 years later she puts herself into the same ladies home, gets the family to trust her, and plans her revenge. Cast includes Catherine Frot, Deborah Francois, Pascal Gregory, Xavier de Guillebon, Christine Citi, and Jacques Bonnaffe. (85 minutes, 2006)
All at Sea: Strong comedy that keeps its own all the way through. Guinness is adorable as sailor who couldn’t bear the sight of water although purchases rundown home on a wharf, turning it into an entertainment palace. Original title was Barnacle Bill. Cast includes Alec Guinness, Irene Browne, Percy Herbert, and Harold Goodwin. (87 minutes,’57)
Straight Time: Hoffman knocks heads with greasy parole officer Walsh following his discharge from penitentiary and starts a downward skid. An immersing if not specifically differentiated melodrama that gets a genuine shot in the arm from tremendous acting by the supporting cast. Cast includes Dustin Hoffman, Theresa Russell, Harry Dean Stanton, Gary Busey, Emmet Walsh, and Rita Taggart. (114 minutes,’78)
Ada: Dean Martin stars in this story of political corruption. With determination and commitment, a poor man finds his ways to riches in this politically based drama. Susan Hayward, Dean Martin, and Martin Balsam are the movies stars. (1961 drama Daniel Mann directs)
Toy Story: A boy’s top choice toy, a doll named Woody, feels bullied and properly so by the emergence of a new toy, a high-tech spaceman model promoted on Television. An adult story masquerading as a kids film, this tale of kinship, fickleness, and the need for acceptance has a vibrant cast of characters led by Woody and his adversary, Thrill Light-year. Their facial proclamations and body language is as excellent as anything ever seen in a conventional animation. Cast includes Tim Allen, Don Rickles, Jim Varney, Wallace Shawn, John Ratzenberger, Annie Potts, Laurie Metcalf, and R. Lee Ermey. (80 minutes,’95)
Jury of One: Trudging melodrama in reference to a lady who goes to shocking extremes to defend her child who is on trial for murder and rape. Gabin plays the magistrate. Cast includes Sophia Loren, Jean Gabin, Henri Garcin, Julien Bertheau, and Michel Albertini. (97 minutes,’74)
Law of the Lawless: An all star veteran cast is of chief interest here, with Robertson an ex-gunman turned law man. Cast includes Dale Robertson, Yvonne De Carlo, William Bendix, Bruce Cabot, Richard Arlen, and Kent Taylor. (88 minutes,’64)
Remember, be creative and use phrases like “Downloads Games”. If that phrase gets you nowhere, try another phrase. See if “Divx Movies Download” gets a better result.
If they’ve got a good reputation, you’ll see it, plain as day. Online Movie Store Even if you do find a site which sells movie downloads and is completely legal, there may be some grave shortcomings. Many people make excuses that watching illegally downloaded movies isn’t harming anyone.
